There are many people on the island who are looking out for their neighbours & the community in many different ways, some of which are listed below. If you could benefit from any of these, don’t be hesitant to get in touch or get involved!
For everyone:
Cafe R For anyone who wants to socialise over a meal, or who could benefit from a free or cheap meal. A place to Relax, Recover and Recharge with Refreshments and a Meal. (No charge, donations welcome.) 2nd Thursday of each month, 6pm, Easton Methodist Church Hall.

Monday 10-12 Salvation Army Coffee morning
Wednesday 10-12 Coffee morning with ‘Knit & Natter’ – open to all.
Thursday 9.30-11 Cafe Church, Activities for children, toast & teacakes, pause for thought & prayer
Friday 10-12 Coffee morning with bacon butties.
Each session is for anyone who wants to socialise, make new friends and be encouraged. Perhaps you want to improve your knitting or learn how to crochet, or sit to craft & chat?
Bubble & Rise, Thursdays, 11:30am – For anyone who wants to socialise, or who could do with a free hot meal when the cupboards are getting empty. St. John’s Church, Fortuneswell.
This & That with a Bit of Chat, Wednesdays, 10am – For anyone who wants to socialise and likes crafts! St. John’s Church, Fortuneswell.
Food Bank Food support for anyone on benefits. Contact the foodbank manager on 07913 170495 for eligibility and details.
Community Fridge For anyone who wants to reduce food waste, or could benefit from free food. Portland Community Venue.
Youth groups: The Open Arms (Easton Square), Islanders Youth & Community Club (East Weare Road), The Drop-In (Portland Community Venue).
